Day 4: self discovery challenge

Day 4: I am proud of myself because… That is a question that I would consider very personal to me and I might not be as deliberate as I always am but I am going to give it a try. Proud a word that has been increasing in its wealth and also in its capacity, one of the hardest things is to be proud of Yourself. You can be proud of your nationality, your team, your friend, your family members or all of them at once, but once that question is propelled towards you, you begin to think and travel through moments of your life; which of those I am proud myself for doing for saying or maybe for not doing or not saying; being proud doesn’t necessarily have to be related with actions, sometimes it could appear in personal psychological triumphs maybe getting over a hard time in your life or facing yourself with its bad habits or unacceptable properties, we are all flawed in the most different of ways, but it’s how we deal with ourselves that defines how proud we are at least to me it is. ...

Day 3: self discovery challenge

Day 3: what is my ultimate career goal? A career goal, it is basically how I would like my life to be shaped career wise or at least that is what I think, but for a 20 year old women and for people in general not to be a racist such words put an immense amount of pressure on us. It is easy when you are 6 years old and your siblings ask you what do you want to be, you either choose a doctor like your mother or an engineer like your father simply because you have only been exposed to these specific positions or career choices and even their titles are way too generic; For example what type of a doctor do you want to be?. However, you can’t ask a 6 year old that they will just stare at you so you wait until they are older say 16, 17, 18 you start asking expecting a direct detailed answer with a plan on how this person is going to achieve it, but isn’t that a bit unfair; for starters why should anyone have to decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives only when they di...

Day 2: self discovery challenge

Day 2: What would I try to know if I knew I couldn’t fail? That’s a tough one, I usually consider failing in everything I try to learn, mainly because I am a realistic person and to me failing is a very big part of the journey of learning something new and by failing we ultimately know how much we covet that thing we are trying to learn; if we give up then it wasn’t something we desired that much or maybe the fall was too hard that we didn’t want to try it again. With all of that said, allow me to deviate to a related subject ‘the fear of trying itself’, yes that really intimidating feeling we get when we want to try something. Is it really our fear to fail or is it our fear of succeeding and what that might do to us? . As Marianne Williamson said “it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us” that in my mind is true; we fear leaping into the unknown that new thing we want to discover and sometimes yes that leap won’t leave us standing on solid ground but, we must fa...

Day 1: Self Discovery Challenge

Day 1: what do I want to achieve in my life and how can I make it happen?  Achievement, that’s a big word most of it is full of failure and setbacks, take Edison for an example he failed 99 times till he succeeded it took him 99 times of failure to achieve his goal. So what do I want to achieve in my life, well let’s just say that on my 99th time I want to not give up and do that 100 time so that I can achieve what I want if I ever was meant to achieve it. We mustn’t forget that it’s about the journey not just the destination, yes, sometimes you don’t get to arrive to that place you wanted to reach and after mourning for that the lessons we learned become much more valuable to us than that view we most coveted. Well okay, how can I rise on my 99th time? It takes a lot to achieve something at first, you are full of energy and enthusiasm, then after the first bump in the road you say it’s fine every hero needs a few pebbles to make it worth his while and in the back of your...

What would you say to your younger self, your older self and yourself right now?   As common as this question might be, I find it very needed and since they are from us to ourselves; truth is to be expected in this matter. We all need to tell ourselves some things whether they are advices or pep talks or anything at all, we are too often than not caught up in the vortex of our lives that we are too under the water to see where the stream is taking us, so let’s take a moment, let’s talk for a minute. To my younger self; I would say that the sooner you accept change the better it is for you, life isn’t perfect but it has very few perfect moments and you need to enjoy those fully, you are not as objective as you think you are but that’s okay because you need all the lessons that you will get, I applaud you for being who you are, for being strong, for believing in yourself and for standing up for what you believed in, life is hard but you managed to handle it with diffic...

A word from the dictionary and what does it mean to me. The word I found was ‘Endeavor’; its verb means trying hard to achieve something and the noun means an attempt to achieve a goal. By all means this wasn’t planned. Now I didn’t find this word in the dictionary I found it in an application called Vocabulary Builder I opened it and there was my word but since it has a meaning to me I am glad that I found it. I could call myself an endeavor person I really work hard for the things I want, I don’t give up easily and if I do give up then usually it’s a sign that I really didn’t want it this much to justify fighting for it, which is probably a good sign. Now being endeavor doesn’t mean just trying; in my point of view it also means battling through hardships and tough situations that we think we can’t reach the other side of, but we do it anyway, We fall and fall then We rise again, reborn but not new, We rise experienced, We rise wanting it more, Fighting for it more, We ris...
